Building J is a production company that believes storytellers play a unique role in creating consciousness and shaping society. Our mission is to dig into the past, align the present and build for the future.

Building J was formed by sisters Justine and Joanna Raczkiewicz during a trip to the archeological site of Monte Alban in Oaxaca, Mexico.  As an ancient site of cultural exchange, “Building J” was the first astronomical observatory in Mesomerica: a sacred and enigmatic place aligned with the stars and a center of ritual and discovery.

Driven by a deep curiosity and desire to understand our place in the universe, Building J develops thought-provoking and emotionally resonant narrative and non-fiction content. Join us as we incubate ideas, make offerings and discover new worlds together.

As a filmmaker and journalist team, the Raczkiewicz sisters have worked with renowned cultural institutions and production companies including, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Eyebeam, the Harmony Institute, FOX International, Miramax Films, The Weinstein Company, Red Granite Films, Mandalay Pictures and La Petite Reine. Films they have produced also screened in the official selections at the Cannes and Toronto film festivals, among others. Building J is based out of Los Angeles, California.
